Position Summary:

As the Head of Human Resources, you'll play a pivotal role in Impulse Space's next growth phase. This is a unique opportunity to set the overall HR strategy and global people operations roadmap for a cutting-edge space technology company. You'll be a key partner to the President/COO in evolving our company mission, culture, and values while building the HR foundation to support our organizational success.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the executive team to craft and execute a visionary people strategy. Develop and implement innovative HR strategies that align with our ambitious goals.
  • Develop and implement work systems, HR programs, and organizational structures to drive performance and engage employees.
  • Create a world-class company culture that attracts and retains top talent in the space industry.
  • Continually innovate to elevate the employee experience throughout the entire employee lifecycle.
  • Serve as the go-to HR expert and business partner for all levels of the organization.
  • Lead talent acquisition efforts to build robust pipelines of top-tier candidates.
  • Spearhead learning and development initiatives to nurture employee growth
  • Oversee comprehensive performance management and competitive total rewards programs
  • Establish HR analytics to support data-driven decision-making and report success
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws while fostering a culture of innovation
  • Maintain Impulse Space's reputation as an "employer of choice" in the space industry

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in HR, OD, or organizational psychology. MBA a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years leading an HR team
  • Proven track record of building high-quality, scalable HR functions in high-growth startups
  • Ability to influence, engage, and partner closely with executives and business leaders across all levels of the organization in planning, change management, and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in all HR functions, including employee relations, performance management, learning and development, total rewards, and talent acquisition
  • Experience supporting both exempt and non-exempt employees in a manufacturing environment
  • Deep knowledge of the latest HR tools, technology, systems and programming 
  • Expertise in HR metrics, analytics, and industry trends
  • Collaborative leadership style with a low ego and a growth mindset
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Passion for space exploration and technological innovation
