Position Summary

The Contributions Operations Manager leads the daily execution and oversight of contribution processing activities. This role is responsible for managing workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance, resolving escalated service matters, and guiding the handling of complex financial gifts, including marketable securities. The manager plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence, developing team capabilities, and improving systems and processes to support timely and accurate donor service.



Key Responsibilities

·        Lead, mentor, and develop a team responsible for contribution processing and related services

·        Oversee daily production workflows to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and service consistency

·        Monitor and manage internal and external service benchmarks and performance metrics

·        Address and resolve complex or escalated contribution issues

·        Provide guidance on gifts involving publicly traded securities and other non-cash assets

·        Partner with legal and accounting teams to ensure adherence to applicable IRS and regulatory requirements

·        Support reconciliation efforts and resolve discrepancies related to contribution activity

·        Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and implement process enhancements

·        Participate in system testing and implementation related to technology upgrades

·        Maintain reporting related to contribution volume, types, and processing outcomes

·        Collaborate cross-functionally to support training, documentation, and internal education

·        Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including financial professionals

·        Deliver a consistently high level of service aligned with organizational values and donor expectations

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

·        This position includes direct supervisory responsibility for contribution processing staff and may oversee temporary or seasonal team members during peak periods.




Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field required

·        Financial industry credentials (e.g., securities licensing or financial planning certification) preferred but not required

·        5+ years of experience leading teams within a financial services or related operational environment

·        Strong background in customer-focused service delivery

·        Hands-on experience with securities processing, brokerage transactions, or high-volume financial operations

·        Demonstrated success working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments

·        Solid understanding of financial markets and securities transactions

·        Familiarity with nonprofit or charitable giving regulations preferred

·        Experience with enterprise systems such as CRM or ERP platforms

·        Proficiency in standard business software tools

·        Strong leadership and team development skills

·        Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities

·        High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion

·        Ability to analyze issues in real time and implement effective solutions

·        Excellent organizational and time-management skills

·        Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence across teams

Work Environment & Expectations

·        Office environment with moderate activity and noise levels

·        Additional hours may be required during high-volume periods

·        Occasional travel may be necessary
