Draw Accountant – Atlanta, GA
A well-established construction and development firm is seeking a Draw Accountant for its Atlanta, GA office. This role reports to the Vice President of Construction and works closely with both development and construction teams. The Draw Accountant will be a key member of the accounting team, supporting construction job costing and managing financial processes across projects in Georgia and additional markets as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities
Weekly Tasks:
- Maintain and manage weekly invoice submissions for pre-development and construction projects in multiple regions.
- Code invoices and route to the appropriate development manager for approval via DocuSign.
- Ensure proper organization of invoice folders and update invoice spreadsheets for accurate tracking.
- Enter coded invoices into Sage 300 and submit to corporate accounting for processing and payment.
- Reconcile weekly check runs with the corporate controller to ensure timely payment and mailing to consultants.
- Manage contracts and change orders using Sage 300, DocuSign, and Excel.
- Oversee compliance documentation, including lien waivers.
Monthly Tasks:
- Process and submit monthly invoices for approval and entry into Sage 300.
- Maintain accurate invoice recordkeeping and ensure timely submission for processing and check issuance.
- Manage and reconcile monthly draw requests, job cost reports, and disbursements.
- Communicate pay application deadlines to contractors/subcontractors and process pay applications.
- Collaborate with construction and development teams to reconcile cost reports.
Miscellaneous:
- Handle lien waivers and check distribution.
- Support contractor and subcontractor draw schedule preparation and monthly pay application processes for approval and bank funding.
- Process change orders and manage weekly check requests from construction and development teams.
Construction and Development Support
- Work closely with Construction Coordinators, Development Managers, Project Managers, and Assistant Project Managers.
- Organize and manage contract documentation from general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Administer schedule of values and draw management.
- Prepare and implement warranty documentation, including final lien waivers, closeout documents, and any bank/partner-required forms.
- Ensure all project-related paperwork is current, properly filed, and securely stored.

- Familiarity with Sage Intacct, Procore, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project is a plus.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Applied Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Practical construction management and accounting experience is required.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience, including internships or previous roles in construction accounting.
Physical Requirements
- Regular sitting, talking, and hearing; frequent hand use; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- May need to stoop, kneel, climb, or work on active construction sites in various weather conditions.
- Must be comfortable using computers, phones, and standard office technology on a daily basis.
