Sales & Marketing Director – Insurance Programs

We’re looking for an experienced Sales and Marketing Director to help lead the growth of our specialized insurance and association programs. Our company operates at the intersection of insurance brokerage and association management — providing tailored solutions to business groups and their members. With a diverse client portfolio spanning multiple industries and national brands, we’re entering an exciting phase of expansion and are seeking a strategic, relationship-driven professional to join our leadership team.

 

Position Summary

The Director will design and execute strategies for sales, marketing, and product development — with a focus on both member-based insurance offerings and vendor sponsorship programs. This individual will drive growth across existing markets and open doors to new opportunities through strong industry knowledge, data-driven planning, and a collaborative approach.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the sales strategy for group health and commercial insurance programs, ensuring consistent growth and client retention.
  • Develop and implement marketing plans, promotional campaigns, and forecasting models to meet organizational and client goals.
  • Stay informed on regulatory changes affecting insurance programs, ensuring compliance and effective communication to stakeholders.
  • Oversee the sale and renewal of employee benefits programs, including customized and self-funded options.
  • Create and deliver client presentations and proposals both virtually and in person.
  • Conduct periodic client meetings to review performance metrics, identify improvements, and plan renewals.
  • Coordinate advertising and member outreach initiatives across print, digital, and event channels.
  • Analyze competitive activity and market trends to inform product positioning.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners and influencers across insurance and association management industries.
  • Lead marketing performance reviews and present insights to senior leadership.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all materials, events, and communications.
  • Set and manage sales goals, territories, and quotas to maximize productivity.
  • Represent the organization at industry events and conferences.
  • Collaborate with association partners to develop and sell sponsorship, advertising, and exhibit opportunities that generate non-dues revenue.
  • Craft messaging and marketing plans tailored to specific member audiences.
  • Cultivate relationships with high-value clients, negotiate agreements, and close sales.
  • Identify new market opportunities and build pipelines for future growth.
  • Prepare and analyze sales performance reports to guide strategic decisions.
  • Direct research and development efforts for new programs and service offerings.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance sales or marketing, including knowledge of group health and commercial lines.
  • Understanding of self-funded and captive insurance structures.
  • Background in sponsorship, exhibitor, or advertising sales is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior executives and board members.
  • High level of drive, professionalism, and perseverance.
  • Based in the Kennesaw, GA area (hybrid schedule available, up to 2 days remote per week).
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25–30%.
