Sr Accountant Job Description


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounting/Finance

·        Oversee accounting tasks such as invoicing, billing, tracking purchase orders, general bookkeeping activities, and preparing financial reports 

·        Reconcile general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and accounts 

·        Analyze financial reports and records, and perform variance analyses 

·        Summarize financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents.

·        Prepare expense projections and operational forecasts 

·        Manages the payroll process by preparing, processing, and reviewing payroll records. Manages time tracking activities.

·        Completes external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors.

  • Participate in external audits, work with auditors, and prepare documentation
  • Recommend ways to reduce costs and enhance revenue 
  • Design and generate ad hoc reports and graphs 

·        Avoids legal challenges by complying with legal requirements.

Documentation Management

  • Fill applications, waivers, SOV, collect payments, process change orders
  • Review and ensure compliance of required documents.
  • Manage Certificate of Insurance, contract terms, and others.
  • Training and maintain records.
  • Participate in external audits, work with auditors, and prepare documentation 

Human Resources

  • Recruitment, onboarding, compensation and benefits, employee relations, maintaining employment records and processing paperwork 

IT/Technology

·        Oversee office equipment, troubleshoot issues

·        Managed software maintenance and implementation if needs arise

Management & Leadership

  • Train and mentor junior staff 
  • Offer advice and suggestions to management to improve accounting processes 
  • Delegate financial responsibilities to the accounting team



QUALIFICATIONS:

·        5+ years of accounting experience as well as leadership/management experience

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance is required

·        Master’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, or MBA is preferred

·        CPA is preferred

·        Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks is required

·        Strong mathematical and analytical skills

·        Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software

·        Excellent oral and written communication skills

·        Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

·        Demonstrated ability to lead a team

·        Strong understanding of federal, state and local tax regulations
