Reporting Relationship: Sales Director & Operations Director

Location: Douglasville, GA

Position Overview

The Residential Sales Representative oversees the full lifecycle of incoming residential opportunities, from initial inquiry through finalized proposal and project handoff. This role manages leads assigned through multiple channels, conducts in-home consultations, gathers and documents project details, prepares estimates, and maintains consistent communication with homeowners prior to construction start.

This position requires strong organizational skills, professionalism in client-facing environments, working knowledge of residential improvement projects, and the ability to guide customers through decision-making with clarity and confidence. Regular office attendance is expected during standard business hours unless attending appointments or conducting company-related fieldwork.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead Intake & Scheduling

  • Respond to assigned inquiries and assist with inbound calls as needed
  • Manage and track all assigned leads within Houzz
  • Coordinate, confirm, and attend scheduled appointments on time
  • Communicate with clients through Houzz for confirmations, updates, and arrival notifications
  • Adhere to internal procedures regarding appointment preparation and professionalism

In-Home Consultations

  • Attend site visits in approved professional attire
  • Establish trust with homeowners through courteous, knowledgeable interaction
  • Ask targeted questions to clarify project goals, priorities, and constraints
  • Clearly explain scope considerations, timelines, and cost factors

Project Scoping & Documentation

  • Collect accurate project information during site visits, including notes, measurements, photos, and videos
  • Upload and organize all site data in Houzz following internal standards
  • Identify and document logistical considerations such as:
  • Site access and parking
  • Pets or occupants
  • HOA requirements or approvals
  • Neighbor considerations
  • Material delivery paths and jobsite limitations
  • Ensure documentation supports precise and complete estimating

Estimating & Proposal Development

  • Provide on-site pricing for straightforward projects when appropriate
  • Finalize estimates in the office when additional review or detail is required
  • Prepare proposals in Houzz using approved templates and pricing structures
  • Verify that all pricing meets required margin guidelines
  • Submit projects exceeding $50,000 for management review
  • Deliver completed proposals within one business day whenever possible

Follow-Up & Sales Progression

  • Follow established post-proposal communication procedures
  • Maintain consistent follow-up to advance decisions
  • Track proposal outcomes through acceptance or decline
  • Gather feedback on declined proposals
  • Schedule future follow-ups for postponed or phased work

Internal Coordination & Handoff

  • Participate in weekly coordination meetings with project management
  • Review active leads, open proposals, and awarded projects
  • Complete required handoff documentation for approved work
  • Support project managers as needed during early project phases

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with residential construction concepts
  • Proficiency or willingness to learn Houzz and CRM systems

Work Requirements

  • Reliable personal or company vehicle maintained in good working order
  • Office presence required when not conducting site visits
  • Compliance with company dress code and appearance standards
  • Flexibility to work extended hours when necessary to meet deadlines

Compensation & Incentives

  • Hourly training compensation of $18 per hour for up to 90 days
  • Transition to salaried compensation plus commission based on performance
  • Base salary range of $30,000–$45,000 with commission potential up to 10% of markup
  • Commission payouts split between contract execution and project completion
  • Commission eligibility tied to performance metrics including close rate, revenue goals, and margin requirements
  • Company vehicle eligibility after 90 days, subject to leadership approval
  • Insurance and benefits to be determined
