Paraplanner

An established and highly regarded independent wealth management firm is looking to appoint an experienced Paraplanner to join its growing team.

This is a technically focused role within a business that places a strong emphasis on quality advice, professional development and giving its people genuine responsibility.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced advisers, take ownership of their own work and continue developing their technical expertise, with clear progression opportunities available for the right individual.

The role

  • Supporting advisers throughout the advice process, from initial information gathering through to implementation
  • Producing high-quality suitability reports and supporting documentation
  • Conducting detailed research across pensions, investments, protection and wider financial planning
  • Completing complex calculations and cashflow analysis where required
  • Assisting with client review and preparation work
  • Providing technical input and helping advisers develop suitable solutions for clients
  • Contributing to wider technical, research and business projects
  • Building strong relationships across the advisory and support teams
  • Supporting the development of more junior members of the team
  • Maintaining a high standard of compliance and client file management

About you

  • At least 2 years' experience working within an IFA paraplanning environment
  • Previous experience within IFA administration
  • Diploma qualified, with a genuine ambition to progress towards Chartered status
  • Strong technical understanding of the financial planning process
  • Experience across pensions, investments and protection
  • Ideally, exposure to areas such as trusts and inheritance tax planning
  • Confident carrying out whole-of-market research and producing technically accurate written advice
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Able to work independently, use initiative and take ownership of tasks
  • Strong attention to detail with a good understanding of compliance
  • Comfortable using industry systems such as FE Analytics, Voyant, CashCalc or Xplan would be advantageous
  • Good Excel skills
