Edinburgh Position


My client require a paraplanner to support our growth strategy. My client offer independent financial 

planning and investment management services to clients throughout the UK, predominantly Scotland 

and we pride ourselves in being true advocates of personal face-to-face advice, provided by highly 

qualified, competent, and experienced professionals. My client is seeking to accelerate its impressive 

organic growth through additional recruitment to the team. This is an exciting time to join an

Job Purpose

The primary aim of the role is to support our IFA’s who provide holistic independent financial advice 

to clients, looking at cashflow planning, pensions & retirement planning, tax & estate planning, tax 

mitigation strategies including the use of trusts and investment planning, where we are assisted by 

our colleagues within our in-house investment management team. The role requires the paraplanner

to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, have a keen interest and commitment in 

developing their knowledge and qualifications, while always providing a first-class service to all clients.

Relevant Skills and Knowledge

• You should have level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning or suitable equivalent or

working towards it.

• You will have 2 years’ experience of working in a similar role and you must demonstrate a 

strong understanding of financial products and services. 

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, confidence with advisers (and clients) and 

high levels of technical knowledge are pre-requisites for this role.

• You will have a proven ability to assess suitability in line with client’s goals.

• You should be able to demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative with a proactive 

and flexible attitude.

• As a growing business the role has scope for progression in the future. We support flexible 

working patterns. This is a Dundee based role, although we also have an office in Edinburgh.

• Be able to use Lifetime Cashflow planning tools and other Microsoft based programs including 

Excel, Microsoft Office, and relevant back-office systems
