Credit Risk Manager

We're supporting an innovative and rapidly growing mortgage lender in the search for a Credit Risk Manager to join their expanding Risk function.

This is a highly analytical role, offering the opportunity to influence lending decisions, credit policy, affordability assessments, and automated decision-making within a modern residential mortgage environment.

Working closely with stakeholders across Risk, Underwriting, Product, and Technology, you'll be responsible for analysing mortgage portfolio performance, identifying emerging trends and risks, and helping to optimise credit strategies through data-driven insight.

The Role

You'll play a key role in the ongoing development and enhancement of the lender's credit risk framework, using data and analytics to ensure lending remains both commercially competitive and aligned with the organisation's risk appetite.

Key areas of focus will include:

  • Analysing residential mortgage portfolio performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Developing and refining credit scoring strategies and automated credit decisioning processes.
  • Monitoring and reviewing credit score cut-offs, lending criteria, and risk segmentation.
  • Supporting the development of residential affordability models and affordability assessment frameworks.
  • Producing data-driven recommendations to improve lending performance and portfolio quality.
  • Using analytical tools and large data sets to evaluate customer behaviour and credit outcomes.
  • Working with internal stakeholders to implement and optimise credit risk strategies.

About You

We're keen to speak with individuals who have experience in:

  • Credit Risk, Credit Analytics, Credit Strategy, or Portfolio Analytics within residential mortgages.
  • Mortgage portfolio performance analysis and credit risk reporting.
  • Automated credit decisioning and credit strategy development.
  • Credit scoring methodologies, scorecard management, and score cut-off optimisation.
  • Residential affordability modelling and affordability assessment frameworks.
  • Using analytical tools such as SQL, Python, SAS, or similar data analysis platforms.
  • Translating complex data into clear commercial and risk-based recommendations.

Why Apply?

  • Join a forward-thinking lender operating within a growing and evolving market.
  • Have genuine influence over lending strategy and credit policy.
  • Work with modern technology, data, and decisioning tools.
  • Flexible working environment with strong career development opportunities.
  • Be part of a collaborative and highly skilled risk team.
