Unremunerated

For over 35 years, Comic Relief has entertained and inspired people to give generously to support people living incredibly tough lives. We’ve laughed, we’ve cried and enjoyed many incredible moments along the way.

We have done a lot of work over the last year to get very clear on how we will transform the charity for the next 5-10 years. At the heart of it, the “what” remains the same — delivering a just world, free from poverty — but the “how” is changing in order to respond to changing fundraising dynamics, grant-making dynamics and story-telling opportunities that are generated by the people we seek to support and impact.

At this exciting time of change we are seeking a Chair and two new Trustees to help to drive us forward into the next phase. With a wonderful and diverse set of partners, we create amazing opportunities and drive real change.

Our Board of Trustees bring a diversity of skills, experience and expertise who can turn those opportunities into reality and we are looking for individuals who will help ensure that Comic Relief keeps its place as a leading, iconic, global charity that has a special place in the hearts and laughs of the great British people — and most importantly, changes lives for the better as a result.

We are seeking a Chair and Trustees who are passionate about our mission and truly embody our values. At Comic Relief we have a sense of humour, always! We look to inspire a culture of generosity, break down barriers, make meaningful change, walk the walk, share the stage and make it personal. If this sounds like you – we’d love to hear from you.

Chair

We are looking for a courageous leader who takes a collaborative and partnership-led approach, able to balance innovation and impact with effective governance. You will need to be able to demonstrate well developed, effective and agile chairing skills and a track record of delivering strategic and sustainable change.

We are keen to hear from candidates who bring experience as a main-board executive and/or non-executive director and prior chairing experience, whether in the commercial, public, or not-for-profit sectors.
