With a focus on enhancing its marketing strategy and increasing its global presence, GSMA is seeking to appoint an accomplished leader to define and lead its marketing strategy moving forward.

 

Role Overview:

The Head of Marketing Strategy is a key leadership role, responsible for shaping GSMA’s next phase of growth. You will develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with the organisation's business goals, leveraging data, technology and AI to support decision-making and drive performance. This position provides a unique opportunity to influence GSMA’s global brand positioning, create a unified messaging framework, and lead impactful marketing initiatives across regions. You will work closely with the Global CMO and cross-functional teams to ensure marketing efforts are aligned with the organisation’s strategic priorities.


Salary: Up to £195,000 with bonus and package. Hybrid/ London.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive global marketing strategy aligned with GSMA’s global business objectives.
  • Strengthen market positioning with clear and consistent messaging across all channels.
  • You will lead on market and competitive intelligence, evolve our brand positioning and value propositions, identify and lead strategic growth initiatives and embed AI fluency into strategy and execution from discovery to conversion.
  • Leverage data and AI to inform strategic decisions, improve performance and engage audiences effectively.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to ensure cohesive marketing efforts that reflect GSMA’s global vision.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment, ensuring marketing efforts contribute to the organisation’s broader goals.


About You: 

  • A proven strategic marketing leader with experience driving transformational strategies and leveraging emerging technologies like AI and data to enhance engagement and deliver measurable results.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to balance high-level vision with practical execution, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and driving market growth.
  • Strong negotiation and senior stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead global, cross-functional teams and build alignment across diverse regions.
  • A customer-focused marketer with experience scaling high-growth brands and delivering impactful brand positioning across multiple channels.
  • Deep expertise of integrated marketing, customer lifecycle strategies and go-to-market planning
  • Bring thought leadership in marketing trends and innovation
  • You will have an international background working in either large membership, B2B media, B2B or B2C technology, telco’s or broader service-led global environments.
  • A proven ability to develop high performing teams, with experience of scaling marketing strategies in high growth international environments will be key for success.
  • Collaborative leader who brings exceptional influencing ability with senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
