Unremunerated
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) helps young people build lifelong belief in themselves, supporting them to take on their own challenges, follow their passions, and discover talents they never knew they had. Since our inception, we have supported millions of young people to have life-changing experiences, develop essential skills for adulthood and give back to their communities.
As we embark on an exciting and ambitious new five-year strategy, we will be seeking two new Trustees to join our dynamic Board and as we strive to ensure that DofE is even more accessible and relevant, giving more young people the chance to participate in a life-changing DofE programme and feel empowered to be ready for anything, with nothing holding them back.
We are particularly seeking individuals with significant leadership experience and expertise in the following areas:
To ensure effective governance and to meet the needs and aspirations of the most diverse generation of young people ever, our Board members also need a range of lived experience and perspectives. We therefore welcome applications from people of all backgrounds to join our Board but for this round of recruitment we would particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic people and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.
Today’s young people are growing up in an uncertain and uniquely challenging world. More than ever, we need to find ways to support their development, safeguard their wellbeing and build their independence and essential skills. If you are passionate about our mission to support young people to thrive, we would love to hear from you.
