Apply for this job

The Mines Advisory Group (MAG), a Nobel laureate and 2025 recipient of the Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize, is a special humanitarian organisation with a long-term commitment to the millions of people affected by violence, conflict and instability. Over the last five years alone, our work has benefited some 10 million people, and we have found and made safe almost half a million landmines and explosive remnants of war.

The scale and severity of conflict around the world have led to a surge in need, yet humanitarian funding is under pressure. To navigate rising global needs and complex operating environment, MAG must remain agile, strategic, and forward-looking.

In this context, we are seeking a new Trustee to join our Board. We are looking for this new Trustee to play a key role in the future of MAG’s fundraising efforts, especially philanthropic, so we can ensure our funding is both sustainable and diversified to meet growing global needs.

We are ideally looking for someone with access to emerging markets, including but not limited to Gulf states. Prior experience of philanthropic giving (either as a donor or a fundraiser) is not essential, though you will need to demonstrate an ability to help us identify and leverage opportunities in such markets. Prior charity Board experience is also not imperative as we are open to a first-time Trustee as much as someone looking to deepen their existing governance portfolio. What will be important to us is a willingness to learn, to work productively with Board, Executive and relevant staff colleagues, and a shared ambition for MAG’s future. Please also note that we are open to candidates both in and outside the UK.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
