Chair of the Board – Ovarian Cancer Action

Ovarian Cancer Action is a community of changemakers with one purpose: to give ovarian cancer the focus it needs to increase 10-year survival rates. With a mission to save lives, Ovarian Cancer Action drives world-class scientific research, raises public awareness, and campaigns for better treatments and early diagnosis. Every day, women across the UK are diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and Ovarian Cancer Action is committed to transforming the future for these women and their families.

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Board of Trustees as Chair, to lead the organisation through the next phase of our ambitious strategy. The Chair will provide visionary leadership and governance to ensure the charity’s long-term success and sustainability. Working closely with the CEO and Board of Trustees, the Chair will play a pivotal role in shaping our growth strategy, driving innovation, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders, donors, and partners.

The successful candidate will lead the Board in delivering Ovarian Cancer Action’s strategic objectives, support the CEO and senior team in decision-making, and ensure robust governance and financial oversight. As a key ambassador for the charity, the Chair will enhance its profile and foster a collaborative, inclusive culture.

We are looking for a passionate and committed individual with proven commercial leadership experience and, ideally, a strong understanding of charity governance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a strategic vision and dedication to advancing women’s health, are essential.

This is an exciting opportunity to have a significant impact on the lives of women affected by ovarian cancer. By joining Ovarian Cancer Action, you will work with a team of professionals and volunteers who are dedicated to creating meaningful change and supporting world-class research that brings us closer to a cure.
