Summit Search Group has been retained by our client to recruit a Technical Sales Representative – Pumps and Water/Wastewater. This is a unique opportunity for a driven sales professional to join a team where your contributions directly impact growth and client success. The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for generating and qualifying new business leads, developing strong relationships with customers, and driving sales growth across Manitoba, with a focus on the Winnipeg market. The role requires a mix of technical knowledge, strategic thinking, and customer engagement to deliver solutions in pumps, motors, and related water/wastewater equipment.


This position is best suited for a self-starter who thrives in business development, enjoys solving customer challenges, and is motivated to meet and exceed sales targets.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and grow new and existing clients in Manitoba, with emphasis on Winnipeg.
  • Proactively approach clients to educate them on products and solutions.
  • Develop annual sales territory and account plans to achieve assigned targets.
  • Assess customer needs by demonstrating industry knowledge, pricing, and competition.
  • Size and determine specific equipment needs based on specifications.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with prospective and current clients.
  • Provide support, guidance, and recommendations to clients for new opportunities and improvements.
  • Meet booking targets, pipeline management, and key account goals.
  • Stay current on industry trends, market activity, and competitors to recommend improvements or new products.
  • Assist in preparing proposals and quotes.
  • Represent the company at client meetings, tradeshows, exhibitions, and conferences.


Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in mechanical or engineering fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience, preferably in pumps or related process equipment.
  • Strong B2B sales background in industrial products and solutions.
  • Experience with pumps, electric motors, and process equipment.
  • Knowledge of groundwater, industrial, commercial, and municipal industries is an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret pump curves.
  • Understanding of hydraulics and pump sizing.
  • Knowledge of septic and sewage systems (residential, commercial, industrial).
