The Position:

Summit Search Group has been engaged by Golden West Broadcasting on the recruitment of their newest Sales Manager. Golden West Broadcasting has been a trusted voice in prairie communities for more than 65 years. We are seeking a dynamic and relationship-focused Sales Manager to lead their Kindersley operation. This is a unique leadership opportunity that combines direct sales with team management. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will carry your own client list while also coaching and supporting a talented sales team. The Sales Manager role goes beyond sales numbers; it’s about creating the right structure, systems, and culture so your team thrives. You will play an active role in HR and people leadership, addressing challenges, fostering morale, and ensuring that your team maintains a strong work-life balance. You will also work closely with senior leadership to align business strategies, set growth goals, and contribute to Golden West’s broader mission. This is a hands-on position requiring both strategic thinking and community engagement, with regular client meetings and travel for professional development.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Lead and mentor a team of Account Managers by setting clear objectives, providing ongoing coaching, and supporting their professional growth.
  • Drive revenue growth by managing both open and existing account lists, attending client meetings, and developing tailored solutions for local businesses.
  • Align sales strategies with content initiatives by collaborating closely with the local Content Director.
  • Oversee local administrative operations, ensuring structure, consistency, and a positive workplace culture.
  • Build and maintain strong community relationships, representing Golden West at events and supporting sponsorships, partnerships, and donations.
  • Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with Account Managers and provide regular updates to the Regional Manager.
  • Manage local budgets and sales forecasts, ensuring departmental goals are met or exceeded.
  • Recruit, hire, and train new sales team members when needed, ensuring strong succession and team stability.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven success in business-to-business sales with strong client relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to coach, mentor, and inspire a team.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and results-driven, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to foster positive team culture and resolve conflicts.
  • Community-minded, with a genuine passion for supporting local businesses and organizations.
