Summit Search Group is excited to partner with our client, a well-established Heating and Air Conditioning company in Regina, Saskatchewan, to recruit a skilled Journeyman HVAC/R Technician.

As a Journeyman HVAC/R Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of residential, commercial, and light industrial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This role requires a strong technical foundation, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work independently across a variety of job sites.


Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
  • Measure and lay out reference points for installation and servicing
  • Assemble, install, and service HVAC/R components using hand and power tools
  • Measure, cut, connect, and repair piping using welding and brazing equipment
  • Troubleshoot, commission, and overhaul complete HVAC/R systems
  • Test systems for leaks, evacuate and recharge refrigerant, and perform preventative maintenance
  • Diagnose issues and repair or replace defective components in HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, and heat pump systems
  • Complete work orders, service reports, estimates, and invoices accurately and efficiently
  • Supervise and mentor apprentices, providing technical guidance and support
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding system performance and required repairs


Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Certification in HVAC/R or Refrigeration Mechanics
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program
  • Valid safety certifications (or willingness to obtain)
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary technical training is an asset
  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC/R service and installation
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Physically capable of performing job duties, including lifting equipment, working in confined spaces, and climbing ladders or scaffolding
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and customer service orientation
