Field Service Project Manager

Reports To: Field Service Operations Manager
Summary
The Project Manager will work as part of an overall planning team to develop a detailed and integrated plan; and schedule for a low, medium, or high complexity turnaround. The Project Manager will provide work direction to a small team of planners and schedulers, which will receive work direction from the Operations Manager. The Project Manager could be assigned to a specific Turnaround up to two years ahead of the event, and will work through the detailed project planning milestones to ensure the preparedness of the team prior to mechanical work start.
Roles and Responsibilities
Foster an environment of team work, compliance and continual improvement.
Adhere to the Company's objectives, i.e. Safety, Quality, Environmental and Information Security
Ensure compliance with departments standard operating procedures. Own the Project Plan and Schedule
Participate in all required meetings to gather information needed to develop an effective and efficient plan
Ensure the appropriate level of detail is scoped for each work item and integrated into the plan
Develop preliminary and control cost estimates based on the detailed work scope
Provide all standard cost, schedule, and added scope reports to the identified stakeholders
Follow site guidelines and practices as they relate to coding, scheduling techniques, etc.
Develop and maintain the schedule, monitoring completion progress and supplying look-ahead’s
Steward contract resources working within Primavera and/or MS Project
Work with Process organization to integrate shutdown and startup activities into the plan

Requirements
Minimum high school and/or trade school graduate.
2+ yrs. experience in petrochemical project management.
5+ yrs. experience in rotating equipment and machinery (centrifugal compressor and steam turbine experience preferred).
10+ yrs. experience in the refinery and petrochemical industry.
Proficient with MS Office (Word and Excel etc.), Adobe,
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and stakeholders.
Proficiency in the use of computers, administrative processes and organizational competencies
Basic understanding of mechanical work planning and scheduling software (ie. Primavera, MS Project, etc.) with previous experience working within the software and its application on the job
Ability to perform field-walks with various engineering groups to scope work
Ability to travel to job sites in short notice
Ability to work extended hours while assigned to jobs at customer sites.
Perform detailed schedule reviews with key execution groups to identify potential Project risks and efficiencies
Develop manpower charts and provide key forecasting information for cost analysis
Numerous other tasks associated with Turnaround work planning and scheduling
Preferred Skills
Supervisory experience and/or Project Management experience
Strong analytical and communication skills
Demonstrated work experience within a Turnaround atmosphere
Some experience planning work or managing work under a unit rate and/or lump sum contract
Physical Demands
Ability to sit and work in front of a computer for majority of the day.
Minor lifting of files and/or boxes < 5 lbs.
