Our client is seeking an experienced Site Safety & Health Officer to implement and support project site
safety.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Implement and support the project site safety, health, and environment requirements put forth
in the Company’s Safety Management Program
• Guide and support the Project Management Team in all aspects the company’s safety culture of
Incident & Injury (IIF) throughout the project
• Need working knowledge of the contract specifications and support the project with the
execution of all safety, health, and environmental issues
• Monitor onsite construction activities through audits and observation, documenting
deficiencies, and corrective actions
• Participate in project progress meetings and stay abreast of task scheduling to ensure that
potential workplace hazards are discussed and safe work practices planned
• Assist and guide Site Supervisors in preparation and execution of education and training of
safety work practices
• Prepare a weekly safety report summarizing your daily activities, training and near miss and
incident summary
• Conduct new hire safety orientations, familiarization walk-a-rounds (vessel and project) and
assist with implementation of training program
• Participate in pre-shift meetings and conduct/review site hazard assessments with both crew
and project management
• Liaise with the appropriate Division Safety, Health & Environmental Manager, as necessary, to
address project safety, health, and environmental compliance issues
Requirements
• Highschool diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelors degree preferred in Safety
Management, Safety Engineering and or Construction
• Must have knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations for construction, veteran or civilian
• Able to research and interpret federal, state and local rules, regulations and law pertaining to
safety and environmental
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety, veteran or civilian
• Must have OSHA 30 training certificate
• Knowledge of EM3851-1/US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) preferred
• Must possess good oral and written communication skills
• Computer proficient
• Valid driver’s license required, MVR will be run at time of onboarding
• Ability to obtain TWIC
• Extensive field-based travel (100%) is required, domestic initially, possible international in future
• Must be able to work a rotation schedule of 17 days on and 11 days off
