Senior Client Partner

Location: Remote — United States

Location Details: Candidates must be willing to travel regularly for client meetings, executive relationship development, account planning, and internal collaboration. In-person client engagement is an important part of the role.

Compensation: $160,000–$190,000 base salary, plus monthly incentive compensation tied to portfolio retention, bookings, and realized revenue. Compensation is uncapped.

The Right Fit

You are a commercially accountable client leader who understands how to retain and expand complex professional services relationships.

You have carried a revenue quota, sold technology services rather than primarily software licenses, and expanded existing enterprise accounts through executive relationships, business discovery, and consultative solution development. You are comfortable owning both recurring revenue and net-new growth within an assigned portfolio.

You can hold an informed business and technology conversation without immediately relying on a solution architect. You understand how modern software is designed, developed, modernized, and supported, and you can discuss how AI, data, cloud, product engineering, and agentic workflows affect a client’s operating model and technology priorities.

You are also willing to invest time in relationships. This role requires consistent in-person engagement with economic buyers, technology leaders, and other key stakeholders.

About the Role

A global technology services organization is seeking a Senior Client Partner to own, retain, and expand a portfolio of established U.S. client relationships.

This is a quota-carrying individual contributor role focused on account growth, client health, recurring revenue management, and executive relationship development. The initial portfolio is expected to include approximately four accounts representing $5.5 million–$7.5 million in current annual revenue.

You will be responsible for protecting the existing revenue base while identifying new opportunities across business units, geographies, stakeholder groups, and service lines. The annual net-new growth expectation is approximately $3.5 million, with priority placed on expanding professional services engagements across software product engineering, AI, data, cloud, quality engineering, and digital transformation.

The organization has an established account-growth playbook, delivery capabilities, presales support, and identified expansion opportunities within the portfolio. Your responsibility is to develop the relationships, understand the client context, and convert those opportunities into measurable growth.

What You’ll Do

Own Client Retention and Account Health

  • Serve as the senior commercial owner for an assigned portfolio of strategic client accounts
  • Protect and manage approximately $5.5 million–$7.5 million in existing annual revenue
  • Maintain regular engagement with executive sponsors, economic buyers, technology leaders, delivery stakeholders, and procurement teams
  • Monitor client satisfaction, delivery health, renewals, invoicing, and commercial commitments
  • Identify risks early and coordinate internal resources to address client concerns
  • Support renewal documentation, contract extensions, and other activities required to maintain recurring revenue

Expand Strategic Accounts

  • Deliver approximately $3.5 million in annual net-new growth across the assigned portfolio
  • Identify opportunities within new business units, stakeholder groups, geographic regions, and service areas
  • Build account development plans based on client priorities, organizational changes, technology initiatives, and identified white space
  • Develop relationships with additional economic buyers and senior decision-makers
  • Translate client challenges into opportunities across software engineering, product development, AI, data, cloud, quality engineering, and modernization
  • Lead account growth discussions from initial discovery through qualification, solution development, contracting, and revenue realization

Build Executive Relationships

  • Develop trusted, direct relationships with client executives and economic buyers
  • Invest in regular in-person engagement, including client visits, executive dinners, working sessions, and strategic planning meetings
  • Understand each stakeholder’s business objectives, operational priorities, and measures of success
  • Use delivery performance, internal referrals, and client outcomes to expand relationships across the organization
  • Serve as the primary connector between client leadership and internal sales, delivery, architecture, and executive teams

Lead Consultative Technology Conversations

  • Conduct early-stage discovery and qualification without relying immediately on technical specialists
  • Discuss how software products are planned, developed, modernized, tested, and supported
  • Understand client initiatives involving AI-enabled development, agentic workflows, data platforms, cloud modernization, analytics, and product engineering
  • Frame business and technology challenges clearly enough to determine whether an opportunity should advance
  • Bring in solution architects, presales leaders, and delivery specialists once the opportunity has sufficient context and qualification
  • Ensure proposed solutions reflect the client’s business priorities rather than presenting generalized service offerings

Manage Opportunities and Commercial Execution

  • Maintain a clear view of account-level pipeline, bookings, revenue, renewals, and client health
  • Lead opportunity qualification, pursuit strategy, proposal development, and commercial follow-up
  • Partner with solution architects and delivery leaders to develop relevant scopes of work
  • Coordinate agreements, statements of work, renewals, nondisclosure agreements, and legal reviews
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and provide clear reporting on pipeline progression and revenue outlook
  • Ensure booked work transitions effectively into delivery and invoicing

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in consultative technology sales, strategic account management, client partnership, or professional services growth
  • Recent experience carrying a revenue quota and being directly accountable for commercial results
  • Demonstrated success selling and expanding professional services or technology consulting engagements
  • A record of generating at least $2 million in annual net-new services revenue within existing client accounts
  • Experience retaining and growing a multi-account portfolio
  • Ability to provide measurable examples of account expansion, including revenue growth, contract value, engagement length, and personal contribution
  • Experience selling services related to software product engineering, digital engineering, cloud, data, AI, or quality engineering
  • Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle and modern product engineering practices
  • Ability to hold credible conversations with CIOs, CTOs, product leaders, engineering executives, and business stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel regularly and develop client relationships in person
  • Experience collaborating with globally distributed delivery and technical teams

Preferred Experience

  • Background in professional services, consulting, systems integration, outsourced product development, or digital engineering
  • Prior experience in delivery, solution consulting, presales, engineering, product management, or another role that developed practical software lifecycle knowledge
  • Experience growing accounts within healthcare, financial services, SaaS, high-tech, or digital-native organizations
  • Familiarity with agentic AI, AI-enabled software development, data modernization, cloud transformation, and workflow automation
  • Experience working with offshore or nearshore delivery models
  • Experience developing account heat maps, white-space analyses, and multi-year account plans
  • Familiarity with client satisfaction and Net Promoter Score processes
  • Experience managing contracts, renewals, commercial negotiations, and legal coordination

What Success Looks Like

  • Retention and effective management of the assigned $5.5 million–$7.5 million revenue portfolio
  • Approximately $3.5 million in annual net-new account growth
  • Measurable expansion into new business units, stakeholder groups, geographies, and service lines
  • Strong relationships with economic buyers and senior technology leaders
  • Consistent in-person client engagement and executive access
  • Qualified pipeline supported by clear client needs and identifiable business outcomes
  • Accurate forecasting, CRM records, account plans, and revenue reporting
  • Effective coordination between clients, delivery teams, solution architects, and executive leadership
  • Early commercial traction within the first several months of employment

Why Consider This Opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of an established portfolio with current revenue, executive relationships, and identified areas for expansion.

The organization has demonstrated that its client-partner model can produce measurable account growth within a relatively short ramp period. You will have access to delivery leadership, presales resources, solution architects, executive support, and a global services organization capable of delivering complex technology programs.

The position also provides direct financial participation in recurring revenue management, new bookings, and realized account growth.
