M365 Copilot Adoption & Change Practice Lead
Location: Remote, United States
Schedule: Must be able to work Pacific Time business hours
Employment Type: Full-time or contract-to-hire
The Opportunity
We are seeking a senior Microsoft 365 Copilot Adoption & Change Practice Lead to lead customer-facing organisational change and adoption engagements for enterprise and public-sector clients.
This is not a technical deployment, helpdesk or standard product-training role. You will help organisations realise value from Microsoft 365 Copilot after licensing and technical enablement are in place. You will translate AI capabilities into practical, role-specific ways of working; build confidence and momentum across varied employee populations; and create scalable adoption methods that customers can sustain.
You will lead major client engagements while helping build a growing Adoption and Change Management practice—establishing repeatable methodology, practical delivery assets, quality standards and a high-performing team of change specialists.
What You Will Do
- Lead end-to-end organisational change management and adoption workstreams for Microsoft 365 Copilot and broader digital workplace / AI transformation programmes.
- Design scalable adoption strategies for large, complex organisations, including stakeholder engagement, sponsorship, readiness, change-impact assessment, communications, learning, reinforcement and resistance management.
- Segment employee populations into practical personas and develop role-based “day in the life” use cases, enablement materials and adoption journeys.
- Build and run change-champion, ambassador or power-user networks that help drive peer-led adoption, collect feedback and identify emerging barriers.
- Design and facilitate train-the-trainer programmes, virtual town halls, webinars, office hours, workshops and other scaled enablement activities.
- Partner with customer executives, business leaders, technical teams, learning teams and frontline users to convert Copilot capabilities into tangible business value.
- Address employee concerns around AI, including privacy, responsible use, job impact, access, confidence and changing ways of working.
- Establish meaningful adoption measurement that goes beyond attendance and course completion, incorporating readiness, engagement, sentiment, feedback, active usage and sustained behavioural change.
- Produce executive-ready reporting, recommendations, risk updates and adoption insights that enable customer decision-making.
- Lead and mentor adoption/change specialists, including internal and contract delivery resources.
- Build reusable practice assets: playbooks, templates, governance models, persona frameworks, communications kits, measurement standards and quality controls.
- Support the growth of a customer-facing adoption and change management service line across multiple concurrent client engagements.
What You Bring
- Significant experience leading organisational change management, enterprise technology adoption, digital workplace transformation or workforce enablement programmes.
- Demonstrated ownership of large-scale software or digital-tool adoption programmes for at least 8,000 users; experience at 10,000+ users is strongly preferred.
- Direct experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, enterprise AI adoption or a comparable digital-workplace transformation is highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of OCM disciplines: stakeholder mapping, readiness, communications, change-impact analysis, sponsorship, resistance management, feedback loops, learning, reinforcement and adoption measurement.
- Practical experience creating and managing champion, power-user or ambassador networks.
- Proven experience delivering train-the-trainer programmes and facilitating large virtual events, town halls or webinars.
- Ability to develop employee personas and turn them into credible, role-specific workflows and enablement—not generic feature training.
- Experience leading a team, workstream, practice capability or group of change/adoption specialists.
- Strong client-facing consulting skills, including executive communication, facilitation, problem solving and stakeholder management.
- Ability to work independently in an evolving, delivery-oriented consulting environment.
- Ability to work Pacific Time business hours consistently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Consulting, systems-integration, professional-services or highly consultative enterprise experience.
- Experience supporting public-sector, regulated or large distributed organisations.
- Prosci, CCMP, ACMP or comparable change-management certification.
- Experience building an organisational AI adoption strategy, responsible-AI communications or AI enablement programmes.
- Experience developing adoption dashboards and translating qualitative and quantitative feedback into executive action.
What Success Looks Like
In this role, you will:
- Create adoption strategies that help employees understand how Copilot improves their own work—not merely how to access the tool.
- Build repeatable methods that enable consistent, high-quality client delivery across multiple programmes.
- Establish effective champion and train-the-trainer models that scale beyond individual classroom training.
- Surface and address adoption risks early, including AI concerns, stakeholder resistance, unclear use cases and capability confusion.
- Give executive stakeholders clear evidence of adoption progress, barriers, recommended actions and realised value.
- Build a durable change and adoption capability that grows with client demand.
