Business Development Sales Support Representative

Our client is seeking a Sales Support / Business Development Representative to support U.S. Government and commercial business lines. They operate using a collaborative, team-based approach, and this position serves as a vital member of the Business Development (Client) Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting growth across all market sectors by assisting client engagement, pipeline development efforts, and lead generation.


Core Responsibilities


  • Marketing, Outreach, and Brand Awareness
  • Maintain and regularly update website content and social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn) to strengthen the company's visibility, engagement, and market presence.
  • Support execution of a coordinated marketing plan, assisting with go-to-market strategies and outreach campaigns.
  • Promote solutions through marketing efforts, events, and digital campaigns.
  • Coordinate trade show and exposition participation.
  • Manage industry memberships and consortium participation.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to track trends and inform growth strategies.
  • Lead targeted outreach campaigns for specific sectors, agencies, and technology domains.
  • Business Development and Sales Support
  • Support the growth and maintenance of sales across government, and commercial markets.
  • Qualify, and track new business opportunities, coordinating proposal development and capture activities.
  • Maintain oversight of the Client travel budget, tracking expenditures and forecasting requirements.
  • Support weekly Client meetings, providing updates, metrics, and progress summaries.
  • Maintain CRM data integrity and a structured repository of Client materials, templates, and presentations.
  • Support and manage partner and channel relationships.
  • Coordinate with other company departments to ensure customer requirements align with delivery capability.
  • Oversee and assist with proposal efforts.
  • Customer Engagement and Relationship Management
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries via website, email, or direct communication.
  • Coordinate follow-on actions and ensure responsive engagement with existing and prospective customers.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction through proactive communication, follow-ups, and performance evaluations.
  • Manage customer warranty documentation, service records, and CRM data accuracy.
  • Support long-term account health tracking and relationship continuity efforts.
  • Administrative, Operational, and Compliance Support
  • Support Client team ensuring smooth execution of campaigns, meetings, and deliverables.
  • Prepare recurring reports with accurate and timely metrics.
  • Uphold compliance with internal cybersecurity, confidentiality, and data-protection policies.
  • Technical and Analytical Skills
  • Demonstrate proficiency with CRM platforms and the Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Conduct business intelligence research on procurement forecasts, competitors, and industry trends.
  • Support workflow automation and process optimization to improve team efficiency.
  • The successful candidate is expected to develop a clear understanding of the company's technical solutions and services to effectively communicate value to clients and partners.

Qualifications Required


  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, inside sales, or marketing support— preferably in a Government, Defense, or Technology environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills – critical.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Eligibility to work on U.S. Government-related projects (U.S. Citizenship required) and eligible for a U.S. security clearance.

Preferred


  • Formal education in business, marketing, communications, or related fields (or equivalent experience), or applicable experience in TSCM, SIGINT/EW, or Physical/Technical Security.
  • Familiarity with DoD procurement processes, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS), and/or ITAR/EAR compliance.
  • Prior experience supporting trade shows, proposal development, or capture management.
  • Occasional travel (≤10%) to support customers, trade shows, training, and industry events.
  • Experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP/CRM systems
  • Active or previous U.S. Government security clearance (Secret or higher).
