Join our team to develop and implement modern web-based applications in AWS cloud. As a Full Stack Engineer, you will build responsive, high-performance web applications that deliver critical meteorological visualization capabilities to weather forecasters and analysts, transforming traditional desktop tools into cloud-native web solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop frontend components for web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries
Create responsive, interactive user interfaces for complex meteorological data visualization
Implement backend services and APIs to support web-based weather visualization tools
Build data processing pipelines for meteorological datasets in AWS cloud environment
Develop interactive mapping components and geospatial visualization features
Integrate with AWS services (S3, Lambda, API Gateway, EKS, DynamoDB, etc.) to create scalable solutions
Implement efficient data handling techniques for large meteorological datasets
Collaborate with UX designers to create intuitive interfaces for weather forecasting applications
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following team standards
Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the full application stack
Collaborate with meteorologists and domain experts to understand operational requirements
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
2+ years of experience in full stack web development
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js)
Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web design
Knowledge of backend development using Node.js, Python, or Java
Experience with RESTful API design and implementation
Familiarity with AWS cloud services and serverless architecture
Experience with Microservices driven architecture in AWS
Understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL)
Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
Experience with geospatial data visualization libraries (Mapbox, Leaflet, OpenLayers)
Experience leveraging Generative AI development tools to accelerate and assist in the development process. Knowledge of best practices in GenAI Prompting, development, reviewing generated content.
Preferred
Knowledge of WebGL or Canvas-based visualization techniques
Familiarity with data visualization libraries (D3.js, Chart.js, etc.)
Understanding of weather data formats (GRIB, NetCDF, etc.) or scientific data processing
Background in meteorology or experience with weather applications
AWS certifications (Developer Associate, Solutions Architect)
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Knowledge of accessibility standards and cross-browser compatibility
