How Role Fits Into Boldt:
The Manager of Government Contract Accounting will support the preconstruction, accounting, reporting, and compliance activities associated with Boldt's government contract work. This role focuses on developing policies and procedures, strengthening financial processes, maintaining government cost structures, and ensuring alignment with FAR and CAS requirements. As a senior individual contributor, you'll influence the organization through technical expertise and process ownership rather than direct people management. This position does not currently have any direct reports.
What You Get to Do:
- Develop, document, and implement government contract accounting policies and procedures across the organization.
- Manage government contract accounting activities, including costing, reporting, invoicing, and related financial compliance requirements.
- Maintain and strengthen accounting processes that support compliance with FAR, CAS, and company policies.
- Establish and maintain government rate structures, indirect cost pools, allocation methodologies, and supporting documentation.
- Apply prior overhead experience to help ensure costs are classified, allocated, and reported appropriately.
- Partner with Finance leadership on budgeting, financial reporting, invoicing, and related government contract accounting matters.
- Serve as an internal resource on government contract accounting requirements and related financial processes.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support consistent application of accounting policies and procedures.
- Create practical tools, templates, and documentation that support accurate and repeatable financial processes.
- Identify areas of risk, inconsistency, or process improvement and recommend practical solutions.
- Support financial matters related to subcontracts, including costing and billing, in coordination with internal teams.
- Support cost-volume preparation and other finance-related elements of the government proposal process.
- Manage required government contract accounting reports and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate government accounting audits and respond to related financial requests

What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Approximately 7-9 years of relevant accounting experience, including meaningful government contract accounting exposure.
- Working knowledge of FAR and CAS requirements.
- Experience with indirect cost structures, overhead allocation, cost pools, and government rate development.
- Demonstrated experience developing, documenting, implementing, or improving accounting policies and procedures.
- Experience supporting government accounting reporting, submissions, audits, or compliance activities.
- Ability to translate technical accounting requirements into practical business processes.
- Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes and drive implementation through partnership, collaboration, and subject matter expertise rather than formal authority.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial systems.
- A valid driver’s license may be required. Individuals in this role may be subject to an annual Motor Vehicle Records check.
Work Arrangement:
Boldt is open to considering onsite, hybrid, or remote work arrangements for the right candidate. Individuals should be willing to travel to Appleton, Wisconsin approximately once per month, with travel expenses covered by the company. Relocation assistance may also be considered.
This role is primarily performed in a professional office or remote-office environment and requires regular computer use and communication with internal and external stakeholders.

COMPENSATION
Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $107,000 - $146,000 annually; however, compensation is determined based on qualifications, experience, certifications, geographic market conditions, internal equity, and business considerations. In addition to base compensation, employees may be eligible for incentive compensation and participation in applicable company benefit programs.
