HR Generalist

Full-Time | On-Site

SN is assisting Liberty Excavators, Inc. in the search for an experienced HR Generalist to support employees and leaders across a growing construction organization. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role serves as a trusted resource for recruiting, employee relations, benefits administration, leave management, compliance, and HR operations.


The ideal candidate is a confident HR professional who enjoys working independently, building relationships across the organization, and helping employees and managers navigate workplace challenges with sound judgment and professionalism.

Core Responsibilities:

Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Use recruitment tools and sourcing strategies to identify and attract qualified candidates.
  • Coordinate interviews, job offers, background checks, pre-employment requirements, and new employee orientation.
  • Track applicant and hiring activity in the company's HR systems and maintain accurate documentation.


Employee Support & Relations

  • Serve as an accessible HR resource for employees and managers across office and field operations.
  • Respond to employee questions and workplace concerns with discretion, sound judgment, and consistency with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare employment correspondence and respond to unemployment claims and employee information requests.


Benefits & Leave Administration

  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollment changes, claims resolution, invoice review, employee communication, and annual open enrollment support.
  • Track and monitor leaves of absence, including disability and FMLA-related leave.


Compliance & HR Operations

  • Maintain personnel records and HR documentation in Viewpoint and HCSS.
  • Maintain affirmative action and veteran data files in support of applicable reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate the company's random non-DOT drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Complete recurring background checks and support other HR compliance activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the HR function and company operations.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related discipline required. Relevant experience demonstrating the ability to successfully perform the role may be considered.
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Experience supporting employee relations, recruiting, benefits administration, leave management, and HR compliance.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Construction industry experience preferred but not required.


Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with periodic visits to active company jobsites.
  • Position involves both indoor and outdoor work environments.
  • Occasional exposure to conditions associated with excavation, utility, and construction operations.
  • Periodic travel to company jobsites may be required


Work Arrangement:

  • Full-time, on-site position based in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.
  • Monday through Friday schedule.
  • Flexible start and end times aligned to operational hours.
