Summary

 

A leading indoor craft cannabis cultivation facility is seeking an experienced HVAC Specialist to manage and maintain climate control systems within our cannabis cultivation and processing facility. This role ensures optimal temperature, humidity, and air quality to support plant health and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate has expertise in HVAC systems, environmental controls, and facility maintenance within cannabis, agriculture, pharmaceutical, or greenhouse environments.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain and optimize HVAC, air filtration, and climate control systems in cultivation and processing areas.
  • Ensure proper air circulation, humidity control, and temperature regulation to support plant health and facility operations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on HVAC equipment, including dehumidifiers, chillers, and environmental control systems.
  • Develop and implement HVAC maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure peak efficiency.
  • Work closely with the cultivation team to ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, system performance, and repairs.
  • Assist with facility upgrades and modifications to enhance climate control efficiency.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors when necessary.
  • Train internal staff on proper HVAC operation and preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Adhere to Health Canada regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for cannabis production facilities.

 

Experience / Education

 

  • 3+ years of experience in HVAC maintenance, environmental controls, or facility management.
  • Experience working in cannabis cultivation, greenhouse operations, or pharmaceutical environments is a plus.
  • Refrigeration, HVAC, or mechanical certification is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of air circulation, dehumidification, and CO2 monitoring systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems independently.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
