What if your engineering background could drive an entire biogas / waste-to-energy business, not just one part of a project? This role puts you at the point where deep-tech, commercial strategy and meaningful equity all meet.
You will step in as the operational and business lead of a venture that already has real technology and traction, but still has many key decisions ahead: how to enter the market, how to structure contracts and how to prepare the company for its next investment round. It is a position for someone who enjoys connecting process performance with business outcomes and wants to see the direct impact of their work on both.
Why this role matters
You will be the person who takes a highly innovative process at pilot stage and turns it into a real business with customers, contracts and investors on board. Instead of being one more cog in a large organisation, you will sit at the centre of the company’s decisions: defining the business plan, shaping how the technology is monetised and leading the first commercial deals.
It is a role for an engineer who enjoys numbers, negotiations and strategy as much as they enjoy good process design. And because you will join early, your equity stake is designed to be meaningful – if things go well, you will feel it in your bank account, not just on your CV.
What you will actually do
In simple terms: 50% business development, 50% operations. You will:
You will not be alone in front of investors: there is support from the shareholder group for introductions and financial modelling, but you are the person who “owns” the story and the numbers.
Where you might come from
You are most likely an engineer who has already seen how complex industrial projects get sold, financed and delivered. You might be working today in:
What matters most is that you know how to deal with operators, public institutions and tenders, and that you feel comfortable talking both about process performance and business cases. You are not looking for a very stable, slow-moving corporate role; you want responsibility, autonomy and the chance to build something that can grow beyond the national market.
What is in it for you
This is not a “nice title, small impact” position. You will:
If you are an engineer who wants to use their technical background to build a profitable business in biogas and waste-to-energy – and to own a real piece of the value created – this role has been designed for you.
