About the Company

Our client is a German owner=managed manufacturer of turnkey assembly and inspection lines for the automated production of mechatronic components, with 35+ years of experience and global locations in Germany, China, Mexico, and the USA. The US operations are headquartered in Charlotte, NC, and serve customers across the Automotive, Energy, Electronics, and Medical industries.

Position Overview

We are seeking an entrepreneurial Sales & Service Manager to drive U.S. revenue growth and oversee customer service operations — an 80/20 role weighted toward business development. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in industrial automation sales, an ownership mentality, and the intercultural skills to collaborate with the company's global teams in Germany, Mexico, and China.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development (~80%)

  • Identify, pursue, and close new business in Automotive, Energy, Electronics, and Medical industries across the USA
  • Own the USA sales strategy and build a robust pipeline of automation equipment and service contract opportunities
  • Develop target accounts and establish lasting customer relationships; attend trade shows and industry events to expand network
  • Maintain deep automation product knowledge to hold credible technical conversations with prospects and customers

Service & General Operations (~20%)

  • Collaborate with the project and sales teams in Germany, Mexico, and China to match the right solution to each customer
  • Achieve sales targets; track activity, pipeline, and forecasts using CRM tools
  • Represent the company with an ownership mindset — acting as a builder, not just a seller
  • Manage USA service operations: process requests, dispatch technicians, and ensure timely customer follow-up
  • Coordinate with US company and Querétaro service teams to resolve open issues at customer sites
  • Support monthly/quarterly financial reporting and contribute to continuous process improvement

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Computer Science Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 7+ years in industrial automation or related industry, incl. 5+ years in a senior B2B sales role
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth; experience managing technical field service processes
  • Strong communication and leadership skills; proficiency with CRM and Microsoft Office
  • Authorized to work in the USA full-time; no visa sponsorship available

Preferred

  • Preferred: formal sales training (e.g., Dale Carnegie); entrepreneurial mindset; Spanish language skills and intercultural experience working with German or Latin American teams a plus
