Head of Data Platforms – Global Financial Services

Location: Valencia, Spain (with some international collaboration)

We’re looking for a Head of Data Platforms to lead the strategy, architecture, and build‑out of a modern global data platform supporting analytics, regulatory reporting, AI/ML, and business intelligence across multiple regions.

What You’ll Do

• Own the enterprise data strategy and roadmap.
• Design and lead delivery of a modern data platform (Snowflake ideal), including ingestion, governance, transformation, observability and serving layers.
• Establish data product ownership, standards, SLAs and lifecycle management.
• Standardise BI and self‑service analytics across Power BI/Tableau.
• Enable AI/ML, including secure feature pipelines and model lifecycle management.
• Ensure strong governance, security, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, DORA, etc).
• Manage vendors, delivery partners, and platform FinOps.

What You Bring

• Proven experience building and operating modern cloud data platforms.
• Strong background in regulated financial services (FX/derivatives a plus).
• Expertise in data governance, security controls, and scalable architecture.
• Leadership capability across cross‑functional engineering, analytics and governance teams.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
