About the Role
We are looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead the strategy and execution of a developer focused platform at the core of modern application delivery.
This role sits at the intersection of cloud native infrastructure, traffic management, and developer experience. You will define where the product goes, why it matters, and how it delivers real value to both developers and the business.
You will work closely with engineering, go to market teams, and the broader open source community to build products that are technically strong, widely adopted, and commercially successful.
What You’ll Own
- Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a globally used platform
- Translate complex technical capabilities into clear product direction and customer value
- Partner with engineering to deliver scalable, production ready solutions across cloud and on premise environments
- Shape how developers interact with the platform, from onboarding to advanced use cases
- Lead decisions around packaging, pricing, and monetization across open source and commercial offerings
- Engage directly with customers and the developer community to understand needs, validate direction, and build advocacy
- Align cross functional teams and bring clarity to complex, evolving priorities
What You Bring
- 10 plus years of product management experience in software, with a focus on infrastructure, developer tools, or platform products
- Strong understanding of cloud native systems, including Kubernetes, containers, and modern application architectures
- Experience with traffic management, API gateways, service mesh, or similar technologies such as NGINX, Envoy, Kong, or Istio
- Proven ability to take products from concept to adoption across both SMB and enterprise customers
- Experience working with or around open source projects and developer communities
- Familiarity with business models that blend open source and commercial offerings, including subscription and licensing
- Deep empathy for developers and a strong point of view on developer workflows and tooling
- Ability to operate at both a strategic and execution level in a fast moving environment
- Engineering-first background is required
- Started your career as a software engineer
- Experience working on distributed systems, networking or application delivery, and developer platforms or infrastructure
- Ideally operated at a Staff, Senior Staff, or Principal Engineer level, or bring equivalent depth in system design and architecture
- Strong open source credibility, either through contribution, leadership, or active participation in developer communities
