Objective of the Role
The US Director of Sales will play a crucial role in establishing and expanding the company’s footprint and presence in the United States. This position is pivotal in developing and executing sales strategies, managing day-to-day operations with distributors, and directly engaging with key on-premise and retail customers to drive growth and brand recognition in the US market.
Ideal Profile
We are seeking a dynamic, energetic, and passionate individual with a strong sales background and a flair for leadership. The ideal candidate should be willing to travel extensively within key US states, particularly California and Texas. They should be well organized, an effective communicator, and have a proven track record in sales and business development. This is an entrepreneurial role and will require someone who is not afraid to engage and develop relationships across the country.
Responsibilities
• Oversee daily operations with distributors, ensuring smooth and efficient distribution of products.’
• Develop KPI’s to help guide and track progress at the distributor level.
• Hold monthly business meetings with key distributor sales team members to ensure alignment on goals.
• Spend time in market with distributor sales team members to help aid in driving new points of distribution and volume opportunities.
• Conduct trainings for distributor sales teams to enhance product knowledge and sales tactics.
• Tailor and adapt marketing campaigns for the US in collaboration with the marketing/event agency.
• Actively canvass and acquire new strategic customers, including major on-premise and retail customers. Understand how to navigate local, regional and national accounts in both channels.
• Anticipate sales trends to place timely orders with the production team.
• Address and resolve any distribution-related issues in the US.
• Lead and inspire as the first internal role in the USA, setting the groundwork for building a dedicated sales team in the region.
Requirements
• Proven experience in the Beverage Alcohol Industry with 5-7 years of Management/Leadership Experience and 10+ years of overall industry experience.
• Demonstrated ability from past experiences of managing a Beverage Alcohol distributor.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Entrepreneurial attitude that is willing to sell in all channels and develop brands from the ground up.
• Ability to adapt to different market dynamics and customer preferences.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the US.
• Knowledge of the US spirits market and consumer trends.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate market needs and act proactively.
