Role Overview
Nexagen Search is representing a clinical-stage biotechnology company that is hiring for an Associate Scientist/Scientist to join their antibody discovery team. This role will contribute to early-stage discovery programs and will employ molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell-based techniques to support the development of novel therapeutic candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct experimental research supporting biologics drug discovery programs.
- Perform molecular cloning, plasmid preparation, protein expression, and purification.
- Execute antibody characterization using ELISA, Western blotting, immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, and HPLC.
- Maintain and culture mammalian cells; design and perform cell-based assays.
- Analyze, interpret, and report experimental results with high scientific rigor.
- Support cross-functional project teams and contribute to experimental planning and troubleshooting.
- Maintain laboratory organization, documentation, and compliance with safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of hands-on lab experience in molecular or cell biology research.
- Demonstrated experience with molecular biology methods such as cloning, expression, and purification.
- Familiarity with antibody-based assays (ELISA, flow cytometry, Western blotting) preferred.
- Strong technical skills in cellular and biochemical assay development.
- Exposure to antibody discovery programs or biologics development (preferred)
- Understanding of regulatory processes and IND-enabling documentation (preferred)
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities, with a collaborative and proactive mindset.
Compensation: 70-80k depending on experience; 10% annual bonus
