Trueline's client, a successful property management firm, is seeking an adept financial leader for a Corporate Controller role in Tigard, OR. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Corporate Controller will be a key member of the Executive Team who can guide the finance and accounting teams through complex financial landscapes while ensuring a portfolio of over 185 properties is running smoothly.

What You'll Do As The Corporate Controller:

  • Financial Oversight: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements by overseeing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain robust internal controls and safeguards for revenue, costs, and program budgets, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Audit Coordination: Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to manage client and corporate audits efficiently and effectively.
  • Financial Reporting: Analyze financial data to produce accurate and timely reports, keeping senior leadership informed of our financial status.
  • Budget Administration: Assist the executive team in the annual budgeting process, reviewing financial plans and identifying and correcting variances.
  • Grants Management: Oversee financial, project/program, and grants accounting, ensuring alignment with budgetary guidelines and facilitating reporting for grants.
  • Cash Flow Management: Forecast organizational cash flow in collaboration with key stakeholders to maintain financial stability.
  • Investment Management: Track and manage the performance of invested assets in accordance with policies and guidelines.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Respond to inquiries and requests from owners, investors, and agencies, maintaining transparent and effective communication.
  • Process Improvement: Recommend changes to company policies, procedures, and practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Team Development: Mentor and develop accounting team members, clarifying roles and responsibilities and implementing training programs for professional growth.
  • Internal Communications: Strengthen internal communications across the organization, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with government reporting requirements and tax filings at the local, state, and federal levels.

You'll Succeed as the Corporate Controller if You Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of accounting experience and supervisory experience
  • Real estate industry experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and 10-key skills.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to hire, train, and coach staff effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in general accounting, budgeting, and internal controls.
  • Familiarity with Sage 100 and Boston Post is advantageous.

$110,000 - $135,000 annual DOE
