Trueline's client, a prestigious law firm dedicated to providing exceptional legal services across various industries, is seeking a Title Attorney to join their team in Lewiston, Maine. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing your expertise to facilitate smooth real estate transactions and achieve favorable outcomes for clients.


What You'll Do as the Title Attorney:

- Oversee operations and staff for a full-service title company handling residential purchases, complex commercial deals, refinances, deed preparations, and limited title searches.

- Conduct comprehensive title examinations to determine ownership history, legal restrictions, and any encumbrances affecting the property.

- Analyze title commitments, title reports, surveys, and legal descriptions to identify potential issues and discrepancies.

- Review and interpret complex legal documents such as deeds, mortgages, easements, and contracts to assess their impact on property titles.

- Identify and resolve title defects, including liens, judgments, and other encumbrances.

- Provide legal advice and recommendations to stakeholders regarding title issues and solutions.

- Prepare and review closing documents, including title insurance policies, settlement statements, and conveyance documents.

- Conduct research on property history, zoning regulations, and land use restrictions.

- Perform due diligence investigations to assess potential risks associated with property transactions.

- Stay updated on changes in real estate laws and regulations that may impact title issues.


You'll Succeed as the Title Attorney if you Have:

- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

- Admission to the Bar in the State of Maine.

- 1-3 years of experience as a Title Attorney or in real estate law.

- Proficiency in conducting title examinations and resolving complex title issues.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

- Commitment to professionalism, integrity, and client service excellence.
