Salary: $175K–$220K base plus incentive compensation


Overview:

The SVP, Accounting & Reporting (HNW Client Service) oversees all accounting and financial reporting operations within a family office services group supporting ultra‑high‑net‑worth families. The role requires deep technical accounting expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to manage complex entity structures while maintaining exceptional client service standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of accounting professionals, including recruiting, onboarding, training, performance management, and career development.

• Oversee accounting and reporting for individuals, trusts, partnerships, LLCs, and foundations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to established procedures.

• Manage the preparation and delivery of financial statements, 1099s, and tax support packages for clients with complex structures.

• Administer and maintain QuickBooks data files, including access management, new file creation, and oversight of staff and client usage.

• Direct all aspects of client onboarding, including fee proposals, service agreements, data transition from prior providers, and establishment of accounting workflows.

• Provide guidance on complex accounting matters, including investment accounting for alternative investments.

• Oversee expense coding and bill payment processing performed through third‑party platforms, ensuring accurate syncing to the accounting system.

• Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, ensuring consistency across clients and a strong audit‑focused environment.

• Monitor and review billing from external service providers and ensure timely payment.

• Manage internal dashboards and monthly client billing processes.

• Evaluate and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and potential alternative accounting platforms.

• Partner with technology and operational teams on system enhancements and workflow optimization.

• Participate in client and prospect meetings as needed, representing the accounting function and supporting relationship development.

• Integrate regulatory requirements and operational risk considerations into all processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; minimum 15 years of relevant experience.

• CPA required.

• Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Office preferred.

• Experience with individual, partnership, and business accounting strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated progression in responsibility, including direct staff management.

• Proven experience improving processes, scaling workflows, and leading accounting system migrations.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, and sound judgment when handling sensitive information.
