Overview

As a key member of the Executive Management Team, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the Chief Executive Officer and assume a strategic role in the overall financial management of the company. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner to the CEO, have corporate responsibilities to Global CFO and assume primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, controlling, and reporting all financial-related activities of the company. Responsibilities

  • Strategic partner to the CEO and Leadership team, facilitating growth through sound financial decision making and analysis.
  • Provide critical guidance on acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate expansion, real estate, etc.
  • Lead the annual strategic planning process, emphasizing financial planning, investment and define outcomes.
  • Oversee financial close process on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, demonstrating a strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Directly manage the monthly financial reporting function and presentation to Global CFO.
  • Manage the annual planning process, including reporting to the Board and to leadership.
  • Manage activities to support Board requirements, including reporting and interim updates, and to provide quarterly Company updates.
  • Oversee all accounting functions, some areas at a high level and other areas at a detailed level. 
  • Oversee cash management, investing and annual forecasting, developing and monitoring long-term cash flow models.
  • Oversee the P/L and Cash Flow forecasts.
  • Possess the requisite competencies to oversee the Internal Audit in conjunction with the Audit Committee Chair.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal accounting and procurement requirements.
  • Partner with the CIO to establish corporate priorities, determine implementation plans, and finalize IT budgets and annual spend.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience as a CFO required
  • 15+ years of experience in a hands on, leadership role, including providing financial leadership and management while overseeing finance from a strategic, high-level perspective and the ability to get involved in projects as needed
  • Proven track record of outlining and articulating financial priorities and developing strategies which advance these priorities within the acceptable limits of risk and exposure.
  • Subject matter expert in the federal engineer and construction industry
  • Thorough understanding of accounting and financial reporting requirements for federal contractors required
  • Experience with Merger & Acquisition transactions, including divestiture, due diligence, and post-acquisition activities.
  • Demonstrated track record identifying business finance and accounting changes that would impact the organization.
  • Superior analytical abilities demonstrated within strategic forecasting and financial planning and analysis.
  • Working knowledge of all rules and regulations including Federal reporting and procurement requirements
  • Experience delivering effective presentations to stakeholders and Board Management
  • Experience building trust with senior executives and delivering consensus on financial issues
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate among a diverse team.
  • Proven track record as a trusted advisor and confidant with exceptional judgment, the highest ethical and professional standards, personal and professional integrity beyond reproach, and unquestioned discretion in maintaining confidentiality.
