Responsibilities

• Continuously enhance the SOX 404 internal control framework.
• Direct risk assessments and control scoping for key areas including revenue (ASC 606), WIP, job costing, procurement, and fixed assets.
• Evaluate control effectiveness, identify gaps, and drive remediation.
• Maintain process documentation, including narratives, flowcharts, and RCMs
• Align controls with business growth, scalability needs, and system changes.
• Act as the primary liaison between external auditors, internal audit, and business stakeholders.
• Coordinate auditor requests and ensure timely, accurate submission of documentation across teams.
• Facilitate walkthroughs, testing, and evidence collection for project accounting, field controls, and corporate processes.
• Manage audit timelines and resolve issues to ensure on-time completion.
• Monitor control deficiencies, perform root cause analysis, and drive sustainable remediation.
• Provide actionable internal control guidance.
• Advise on control implications of new systems, processes, and business initiatives.
• Support the design and execution of effective remediation plans.
• Deliver training on control ownership and documentation standards.
• Drive process improvements through automation and standardization.
• Build dashboards and reporting for leadership and the Audit Committee.
• Assist in quarterly and annual certification processes.
• Stay current on regulatory requirements and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
• 8+ years of public accounting and/or industry experience with strong SOX expertise.
• Experience in a high-growth company environment a plus.
• SOX 404, COSO framework, and SEC reporting experience required
• Manage external relationships with proven success.
• Execute strong project management and organizational skills.
• Communicate effectively with clear written and verbal skills.
