Engineering Manager - Dubai, UAE


I'm hiring on behalf of a high-growth tech business that's dominating the e-commerce space in its region — and scaling fast.

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of exceptional engineers and help drive high-quality, high-velocity product delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines people management, technical oversight, and Scrum Master responsibilities. You’ll play a key role in maintaining engineering excellence while creating the conditions for a healthy, high-performing team.

What you'll be doing:

🧠 People + Performance

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of talented engineers
  • Build psychological safety and a strong team culture
  • Run regular 1:1s, give actionable feedback, and support growth plans
  • Hire globally, contribute to interviews and onboarding processes


⚙️ Tech + Delivery

  • Own delivery of product commitments — balancing deadlines, quality, and velocity
  • Stay close to the code: reviewing, advising, or getting hands-on as needed
  • Drive improvements in product quality, performance, and reliability
  • Partner with infra engineers for availability and incident response


📈 Agile + Process

  • Facilitate sprints, standups, retros, and planning sessions
  • Help teams level up in Scrum/Agile maturity
  • Unblock progress by removing friction and aligning cross-functional teams
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners to keep backlogs clean and focused
  • Write and deliver quarterly OKRs, KPIs, and continuous improvement strategies


What we're looking for:

  • 8+ years in software engineering
  • 2+ years in a hands-on engineering leadership or management role
  • Strong experience in fast-paced, product-focused environments
  • Familiar with Scrum/Agile practices — and comfortable acting as Scrum Master
  • Strong communicator, confident decision-maker, team-first mindset
  • Comfortable leading remotely, with a track record of self-discipline and delivery
