§ The Firm:

On behalf of our client, People Placers Staffing is seeking a sophisticated legal mind to join a premier California boutique exclusively dedicated to the practice of family law. Unlike traditional multi-practice firms where domestic relations are often treated as a secondary function, this firm recognizes that family law is the cornerstone of their identity. Founded over a decade ago, they have cultivated a reputation for excellence across California’s most competitive markets.

The firm is distinguished by its innovative, remote-first operational model, which prioritizes team compensation and professional development over the traditional overhead of expansive real estate. Candidates will find a culture that is explicitly building a top-tier destination for elite attorneys, offering a transparent "ladder" for advancement from Associate to Partner. This is an environment where the internal team is considered the firm’s most valuable asset, evidenced by an inclusive interview process that ensures every new hire is a seamless cultural and professional fit.

§ Duties:

The incoming Associate will manage a diverse and sophisticated portfolio of family law matters, moving beyond simple support roles to driving case strategy and client advocacy. The firm provides an environment where you are expected to be an attorney and nothing else; administrative burdens and collections are handled by specialized support staff, allowing you to focus entirely on the practice of law.

⨖ Serving as lead or second-chair counsel on complex marital dissolutions, including high-net-worth property characterization and division.

⨖ Drafting and arguing sophisticated Motions and Points and Authorities (MPAs), declarations, and specialized domestic relations filings.

⨖ Navigating intricate custody disputes, ensuring the best interests of the children are balanced with strategic client objectives.

⨖ Providing empathetic yet objective counsel to clients navigating the most challenging transitions of their lives.

⨖ Collaborating with a high-functioning team of paralegals and senior partners to refine litigation tactics and negotiation strategies.

§ Qualifications:

⨖ Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with a strong academic background.

⨖ Active Bar Membership and in good standing with the State Bar of California.

⨖ Two (2) to Four (4) Years of direct, substantive experience in family law litigation. This role is designed for a practitioner with a solid foundation who is ready to be mentored into a senior-level advocate.

⨖ Demonstrated experience handling the financial complexities of divorce, including asset/debt declarations and support calculations.

⨖ Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to produce persuasive and technically sound legal documents.

§ Skills: ⨖ A strong desire to pursue the Certified Family Law Specialist (CFLS) designation, with firm support provided for this track.

⨖ Experience utilizing modern legal technology and practice management software to thrive in a fully remote environment.

⨖ Astute negotiation skills that prioritize peaceful resolution when possible, but a sharp litigation edge when court intervention is necessary.

⨖ High emotional intelligence (EQ) and a commitment to maintaining a collegial, supportive team dynamic.
