Senior Counsel/Junior Partner

§ Practice Area: Commercial Construction Litigation / Infrastructure Procurement & Alternative Dispute Resolution

§ Salary: $275,000.00 to $450,000.00 Annually (Commensurate with experience and portable practice, plus discretionary performance bonuses and executive benefits)

§ Schedule: Full-time, Direct-Hire, Minimum 1,850 hours annual billed target

§ Duties:

The incoming Construction Litigation Partner will lead complex dispute resolution matters and advise enterprise clients on risk mitigation across large-scale commercial, civil, and municipal infrastructure projects.

Primary responsibilities include: ⨖ Managing complex construction litigation matters from initial intake and pre-suit claims analysis through trial, arbitration, and appellate proceedings. ⨖ Representing owners, developers, general contractors, design professionals, and sureties in disputes involving defect claims, delay and disruption damages, payment disputes, and bond actions. ⨖ Conducting and defending critical depositions, including key corporate representatives, fact witnesses, and technical expert witnesses across engineering and construction disciplines. ⨖ Drafting and arguing complex dispositive motions, pleadings, and evidentiary submissions in state and federal courts as well as before administrative tribunals. ⨖ Leading alternative dispute resolution proceedings, including structured mediations and binding arbitrations before major dispute resolution panels. ⨖ Advising institutional clients on project risk management, contract administration, procurement strategies, and pre-litigation dispute avoidance. ⨖ Supervising, mentoring, and directing junior associates and trial support teams in case preparation and courtroom execution.

§ Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate senior-level trial advocacy, deep industry knowledge, and an established history of managing complex construction disputes. ⨖ Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials. ⨖ Active Bar admission in good standing with the Florida Bar. ⨖ Ten (10) to twenty (20) years of substantive experience specializing in construction litigation and infrastructure dispute resolution. ⨖ Proven track record of independently managing complex litigation matters through trial or final arbitration award. ⨖ Substantive experience taking and defending expert witness depositions and arguing dispositive motions.

§ Skills:

The following attributes and credentials are highly desirable: ⨖ An established or portable book of business, alongside a proven capacity for client development within the Florida infrastructure market. ⨖ Formal training or certification in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, including AAA arbitration or Florida Circuit Civil Mediation. ⨖ Experience advising on public-private partnership (P3) infrastructure programs, municipal bonding, or large-scale EPC contracts. ⨖ Superior leadership capabilities with a track record of team mentorship and cross-disciplinary practice collaboration.
