Job Description: People Placers Staffing is seeking a motivated and highly capable mid-level associate (Classes of 2022-2020) to join the elite Debt Finance practice in New York. This role focuses on sophisticated transactional matters for a diverse clientele, including major financial institutions, leading corporations, and private equity sponsors. The attorney will be tasked with drafting, negotiating, and finalizing complex financing documentation, including commitment letters, syndicated credit agreements, intercreditor arrangements, and security agreements. A core function involves advising clients on regulatory compliance and the intricacies of Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) within large-scale corporate transactions. The successful candidate will navigate the full spectrum of debt instruments, contributing intellectual rigor to matters that shape the financial markets.


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the New York State Bar or eligibility to waive in.
  • Between 3 to 5 years of post-J.D. experience (Classes of 2022-2020).
  • Demonstrated experience in general corporate finance matters within a highly-regarded law firm setting.
  • Substantial practical experience in drafting and negotiating credit and security documentation.


Preferred Skills:

  • A proven track record of superior academic achievement and success in previous law firm roles.
  • Prior experience advising on the structure and execution of leveraged recapitalizations and acquisition financings.
  • Familiarity with cross-border finance and multi-jurisdictional lending frameworks.
  • Advanced proficiencies in core corporate principles complementing the finance focus.
