Strategic Account Director – NICU & Genomic Health

A leading clinical genomics company is seeking a high-performing, strategically minded Strategic Account Director to drive growth in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) market. This role is ideal for someone with experience in hospital-based sales or genetics/genomics who excels at consultative selling, navigating complex hospital environments, and promoting the rapid adoption of clinical diagnostic testing.
As a Strategic Account Director, you will serve as the primary face of the organization in your territory—working directly with neonatologists, hospitalists, genetic counselors, and NICU clinical teams. You will help ensure critically ill newborns have access to timely, actionable genetic insights while executing regional sales strategies.

Travel: ~75% field time/travel as needed (including occasional weekends/evenings for conferences and clinical events).

Job Responsibilities

Territory Growth: Drive adoption by prospecting, developing, and closing new business while expanding existing hospital-based NICU accounts.

Account Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for neonatologists, hospitalists, nurse leadership, and clinical staff within target NICUs.

Consultative Selling: Deliver tailored clinical presentations communicating the value of rapid genomic testing (such as rapid whole genome sequencing) for critically ill newborns.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with health system leadership, specialty sales teams, and internal operations to drive optimal utilization, smooth account onboarding, and timely result delivery.

Clinical Education: Lead educational initiatives for NICU teams, including grand rounds, hospital presentations, regional conferences, and clinical meetings.

Data & CRM Management: Monitor client metrics, utilize case studies to reinforce clinical utility, and maintain a robust pipeline in the CRM.
Education, Experience, and Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience: 5–7 years in healthcare or hospital-based sales (experience focused in NICU, pediatrics, or genetics/genomics strongly preferred).

Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Field-based role combined with remote work from a home office.
