Registered Nurse - Med/Surg

Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Medical Surgical Unit. This role involves providing clinical expertise and high-quality care to adult patients with various medical, surgical, cardiac, or neurologic conditions. The diversity of the Med Surg unit offers opportunities to expand your knowledge base throughout your career. You will care for general, urology, and vascular post-surgical patients and learn monitoring techniques. This is a Level I Trauma Facility with stable patients, primarily without drips, but sicker than average Med/Surg patients.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments following standards of care and disease-specific protocols.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize resources.
- Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff within the RN’s scope of practice and in accordance with established policies.
- Provide education and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance, incorporating patient/family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of Acute Care RN experience required (does not need to be recent).
- Graduate from a school of nursing with either an ADN or BSN degree.
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
- BLS required upon hire.
Additional Information:
- Shift Differentials: $4/Nights & $4.00/Weekends
- Relocation: Case by Case Basis
- Salary: $30.04 - $41.50 per hour (based on years of experience)
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: 6:1
- Number of Beds per Unit: 49
