§ Duties

The incoming Senior Real Estate Paralegal will serve as a fundamental pillar to the residential property team, orchestrating the lifecycle of complex real estate transactions from inception to post-closing finality. This role demands a high degree of autonomy and the ability to navigate the intricacies of the Connecticut residential market with poise and technical proficiency. Core responsibilities include:


⨖ Executing Comprehensive File Management for high-end residential acquisitions and dispositions, ensuring all internal and external benchmarks are achieved.

⨖ Drafting and Refining Legal Instruments including contracts of sale, specialized riders, settlement statements, and complex closing affidavits.

⨖ Facilitating Multi-Party Coordination by serving as the primary liaison between high-net-worth clients, lending institutions, title underwriters, and municipal agencies.

⨖ Conducting Detailed Title and Due Diligence Reviews, including the analysis of lien payoffs, tax certifications, and surveys to identify and remedy potential encumbrances.

⨖ Managing Escrow and Financial Logistics, which encompasses the balancing of settlement funds, preparation of wire transfers, and oversight of fiduciary accounts.

⨖ Overseeing the Execution of Local Closings and ensuring the seamless recording of deeds and security instruments in compliance with statutory requirements.


§ Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate a significant history of success within a dedicated real estate legal environment and possess the technical acumen to manage a high-volume docket.


⨖ A Bachelor’s Degree or a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program is required.

⨖ Five (5) or more years of substantive experience specifically within residential real estate law.

⨖ Proven expertise in Connecticut real estate procedures, including a deep familiarity with local closing customs and documentation.

⨖ Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and modern law practice management software.

⨖ Exceptional organizational capabilities, with a demonstrated history of managing concurrent deadlines in a fast-paced transactional setting.


§ Skills

The following attributes and credentials will distinguish the most competitive candidates for this specialized role: ⨖ Current Commission as a Connecticut Notary Public. ⨖ Previous experience handling transactions involving luxury estates or unique property structures (e.g., conservation easements or historical designations). ⨖ Superior interpersonal communication skills, tailored for a sophisticated and demanding client base. ⨖ Advanced knowledge of TRID requirements and modern lending compliance standards. ⨖ A proactive approach to problem-solving, particularly regarding title curative work and complex settlement reconciliations.
