Pediatric Audiologist (On-Site)

Employment Type: 12-Month Contract

Work Setting: Outpatient Pediatric Healthcare

Potential for Extension/Conversion: Yes – contract may be extended or converted to permanent employment based on business needs and performance.

Compensation

• Pay Rate: $66 per hour to $80 per hour
• Overtime: 1.5x applicable rate
• Paid Orientation: Yes

The Pediatric Audiologists working in hospital-based outpatient setting will be expected to do some light travelling between separate the two separate locations in Philadelphia and King of Prussia. The position is a contract-to-hire position with no specificity on the period for transition to permanent. The decision to bring the contractor on permanent will be largely performance based. If and when the contractor gets hired on full-time basis, the compensation is explained below:

Annual Salary:

$120,000–$142,000 for mid-level experienced and competent pediatric audiologists

$145,000–$160,000+ annually for highly specialized pediatric audiologists.

Position Summary

A leading pediatric healthcare organization is seeking a licensed Audiologist to provide outpatient diagnostic and consultative services for children with hearing and vestibular disorders. This role involves evaluating pediatric patients, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams, educating families, and supporting treatment planning through comprehensive audiological assessment.

The selected clinician will see approximately 5–10 patients per day and work primarily in a pediatric outpatient environment.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Master’s Degree in Audiology required
• Doctoral degree (PhD/AuD) strongly preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of licensed Audiology experience
• Pediatric Audiology experience preferred
• Experience in a pediatric hospital or medical-based setting preferred

Licensure

• Active Pennsylvania Audiology License required upon hire

Certifications

Must possess one of the following upon hire:

• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A)

OR

• Board Certification in Audiology (ABA)

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment & Evaluation:

1. Conduct comprehensive audiologic and vestibular evaluations for pediatric patients.
2. Perform diagnostic testing using established clinical protocols and regulatory standards.
3. Assess hearing function and identify auditory or balance-related disorders.

Interpretation & Reporting:

1. Analyze diagnostic findings and communicate results accurately.
2. Produce timely documentation and clinical reports.
3. Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to support diagnosis and treatment planning.

Patient & Family Education:

1. Counsel patients and families regarding hearing loss, communication strategies, hearing technology, and rehabilitation options.
2. Provide education on available services, community resources, and follow-up care recommendations.
3. Facilitate referrals to appropriate specialty services when indicated.

Care Coordination:

1. Coordinate continuity of care and transfer patients to managing Audiologists when appropriate.
2. Communicate treatment plans and follow-up recommendations clearly with families and care teams.
3. Ensure timely scheduling of ongoing services.

Operational Responsibilities:

1. Maintain productivity expectations and efficient utilization of clinical resources.
2. Support departmental operational goals and quality standards.

Professional Development:

1. Maintain competency through continuing education and departmental training.
2. Incorporate evidence-based practice and current research into patient care.
3. Remain knowledgeable regarding organizational policies and clinical procedures.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday
• 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• On-site position

Flexible Scheduling Available

The clinician will primarily support two outpatient specialty locations:

Primary Site (Majority of Schedule)

Philadelphia, PA

Approximately 3 or more days per week

Secondary Site

King of Prussia, PA

As needed, typically up to 2 days per week

Travel between locations may be required; however, same-day travel is generally not expected.
