§ Duties:
The incoming Senior Commercial Real Estate Paralegal will deliver comprehensive transactional support to attorneys across all phases of commercial and industrial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, developments, and financings.
Primary responsibilities include:
⨖ Managing complex commercial real estate transactions from initial contract drafting through settlement and post-closing administration.
⨖ Conducting thorough due diligence reviews, including analyzing title commitments, boundary surveys, zoning reports, environmental studies, and municipal filings.
⨖ Preparing, revising, and organizing core transactional documentation, corporate formation agreements, conveyance instruments, and closing statements.
⨖ Serving as a central point of contact to coordinate closing mechanics among principals, institutional lenders, title underwriters, municipal entities, and opposing counsel.
⨖ Facilitating escrow-style settlements, preparing signature packages, executing post-closing recordings, and securing IRS Employer Identification Numbers.
⨖ Maintaining precise daily billing records, transaction checklists, and matter files within a fast-paced environment.
§ Qualifications:
⨖ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and/or a Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.
⨖ Minimum of five (5) years of substantive commercial real estate paralegal experience, preferably within a law firm setting.
⨖ Demonstrated technical proficiency in title examination, survey analysis, entity formation, and complex closing mechanics.
⨖ Advanced proficiency in legal document management tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and PDF management software such as Kofax.
⨖ Outstanding organizational, analytical, and time-management capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
§ Skills:
⨖ Active Commission as a New Jersey Notary Public, or willingness to obtain commission upon hire.
⨖ Direct experience procuring Employer Identification Numbers (EINs) and preparing auxiliary IRS corporate filings.
⨖ Familiarity with commercial leasing, industrial financing structures, and local land use compliance.
⨖ Availability and willingness to work occasional overtime to accommodate transaction deadlines.
