Junior to Mid-Level Associate | Labor & Employment Litigation

§ Practice Area: Management-Side Employment Litigation, Corporate Workplace Counseling, & Internal Investigations

§ Location: San Francisco, CA or Silicon Valley, CA

§ Salary: $225,000 to $435,000 Base Salary (Determined by experience and seniority; includes eligibility for comprehensive medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid parental leave, and discretionary performance bonuses)

§ Schedule: Full-time, Direct-Hire, Minimum 1,850 annual billable hours requirement

§ Duties:

The incoming Junior to Mid-Level Associate will actively contribute to a dynamic management-side workplace law practice, balancing client-facing strategic counseling with active courtroom litigation and administrative advocacy.

Core responsibilities include:

⨖ Defending corporate employers against single-plaintiff litigation, representative PAGA actions, and complex class or collective actions involving wage-and-hour, discrimination, harassment, and wrongful termination claims.

⨖ Conducting sensitive workplace investigations regarding executive misconduct, whistleblower allegations, and internal policy violations.

⨖ Formulating proactive corporate workforce counseling regarding employment agreements, restrictive covenants, separation packages, and state or federal statutory compliance.

⨖ Drafting dispositive motions, pleadings, deposition outlines, and briefs across state and federal venues.

⨖ Advising corporate leadership on labor compliance, workforce restructurings, and employment considerations stemming from commercial transactions and corporate reorganizations.


§ Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate exceptional academic credentials and substantive experience within an established law firm environment.

⨖ Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with an outstanding academic record.

⨖ Active Bar Membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.

⨖ Two (2) to Five (5) years of substantive labor and employment law or sophisticated general commercial litigation experience at a large law firm.

⨖ Proven track record in employment counseling, single-plaintiff litigation defense, class/collective action defense, or regulatory investigations.

⨖ Superior legal research, analytical reasoning, and written advocacy capabilities.


§ Skills:

The following attributes and background experience will significantly strengthen an applicant’s candidacy:

⨖ Completion of a federal judicial clerkship (including term clerkships concluding in Summer or Fall 2026).

⨖ Direct experience defending representative actions under the California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) or wage-and-hour class litigation.

⨖ Prior involvement in drafting executive employment agreements and trade secret or non-solicitation covenants.

⨖ Demonstrated proficiency in managing complex electronic discovery (e-discovery) and taking or defending depositions.

⨖ Strong interpersonal communication skills with the capability to interface directly with corporate executives, human resources leaders, and opposing counsel.
