Complex Commercial Litigation Counsel | Partner – Toxic Tort & Product Liability

§ Salary: $250,000.00 to $330,000.00 Annually (Commensurate with experience, with potential trail offer, discretionary performance bonuses, and comprehensive benefit package)

§ Schedule: Full-time, Direct-Hire, Onsite

§ Duties: The incoming Commercial Litigation Counsel or Partner will manage complex defense litigation, serving enterprise clients across high-stakes product liability, toxic tort, consumer class action, and commercial dispute matters.

Primary responsibilities include: ⨖ Managing complex litigation matters through all stages of case work-up, pre-trial strategy, discovery, and trial execution. ⨖ Drafting and arguing substantive pleadings, complex discovery motions, dispositive motions, and class certification motions in state and federal courts. ⨖ Preparing for, conducting, and defending key lay and expert witness depositions. ⨖ Supervising electronic document discovery, document production, and comprehensive case management protocols. ⨖ Representing corporate clients as trial counsel in jury trials, bench trials, arbitrations, and administrative proceedings. ⨖ Advising enterprise executives on risk mitigation, litigation exposure, creative defense strategies, and settlement options.

§ Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate senior-level litigation experience and an established track record of successful case management in a law firm environment. ⨖ Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials. ⨖ Active Bar admission in good standing with the State Bar of California. ⨖ Eight (8) or more years of substantive litigation experience handling product liability, toxic torts, or complex commercial disputes within a mid-sized or large law firm setting. ⨖ Demonstrated track record of drafting and arguing dispositive, discovery, or class certification motions. ⨖ Substantive courtroom and deposition experience, including taking and defending key expert and fact witness depositions.

§ Skills: The following credentials and experience are highly preferred to ensure immediate integration into the practice: ⨖ Specific defense experience handling asbestos, talc, silica, environmental contamination, or mass tort litigation. ⨖ Background in defending consumer class actions, privacy claims, false advertising, or greenwashing disputes. ⨖ Experience serving as regional or national defense counsel for major corporate clients. ⨖ Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to lead multi-lawyer trial teams and contribute to practice group growth.
