§ Salary: $60,000.00 to $75,000.00 Annually (Includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance coverage, a 401(k) retirement architecture, and generous paid time off. Discretionary year-end bonuses and merit-based increases are also actively awarded.)

§ Duties:

The incoming Legal Assistant will provide indispensable administrative and procedural support to a leading Partner within the firm's matrimonial and family law division. This role requires an astute professional capable of navigating a dynamic environment characterized by shifting priorities, stringent court deadlines, and highly confidential client matters. The successful candidate will be the organizational epicenter of the Partner’s practice, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and meticulous document management.


Core responsibilities include:

⨖ Orchestrating complex calendaring, proactively managing critical court deadlines, and coordinating appearances, mediations, and client consultations.

⨖ Drafting, formatting, and executing extensive revisions of sensitive legal instruments, correspondence, and court filings with an uncompromising standard of accuracy.

⨖ Transcribing complex dictations and audio recordings into polished legal documents, incorporating immediate feedback and meticulous edits from the Partner.

⨖ Navigating the New Jersey e-filing systems with proficiency, ensuring all pleadings and motions are securely and timely lodged with the appropriate tribunals.

⨖ Serving as a poised and empathetic liaison to clients navigating emotionally charged family disputes, facilitating seamless communication while strictly maintaining confidentiality.

⨖ Managing the lifecycle of case files, meticulously organizing discovery materials, and digitizing records to ensure immediate accessibility for the legal team.

⨖ Administering billing protocols, including the generation of draft invoices, tracking accounts receivable, and finalizing financial documentation.


§ Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a proven trajectory of success within a demanding legal environment, showcasing the technical and procedural acumen necessary to excel in this role.

⨖ A minimum of three (3) years of dedicated experience supporting a family law practice within a sophisticated law firm environment.

⨖ Comprehensive understanding of New Jersey family law procedures, local court rules, and e-filing protocols.

⨖ Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically demonstrating mastery of Word for complex document formatting, redlining, and revisions.

⨖ Exceptional organizational architecture, with a demonstrated ability to execute high-volume administrative tasks with precision.

⨖ Exemplary written and verbal communication skills, tailored to interact professionally with judicial staff, opposing counsel, and high-net-worth clientele.

⨖ The flexibility and dedication to work overtime when necessary to meet exigent court deadlines and firm needs.


§ Skills:

The following supplementary qualifications are highly advantageous and will significantly distinguish a candidate's application:

⨖ Prior experience utilizing specialized PDF and document management software, such as Kofax Power PDF or comparable platforms.

⨖ A nuanced understanding of high-asset divorce complexities, including the organization of financial discovery, forensic accounting reports, and business valuations.

⨖ Proven expertise in utilizing law firm billing software to streamline the pre-bill and collections processes.

⨖ A Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or an undergraduate degree in a related professional field.
