Location: Washington, D.C.

Salary: $435,000 to $485,000

Compensation and Benefits:

Benefits include health care, retirement plans, paid time off including sick and vacation days, parental leave, basic life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, and discretionary performance-based bonuses.

Schedule: 1,900 - 2,100+ hours per year

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

The General Of Counsel will provide senior legal advice and support across the firm’s practice groups or to key clients. Responsibilities include overseeing legal strategy, managing complex transactions or disputes, guiding associates and junior lawyers, liaising with clients, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The role involves leadership in legal risk management and contributing to business growth initiatives.


Required Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Bar in Washington, D.C., or eligibility to obtain promptly
  • Extensive experience as a practicing attorney, ideally with prior senior counsel or leadership roles
  • Proven ability to manage complex legal matters independently
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • Excellent judgment and strategic thinking abilities
  • Commitment to ethical practice and client service


Additional Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in regulatory, transactional, or litigation matters relevant to the firm’s client base
  • Prior experience in a similar senior legal role within a law firm or corporate legal department
  • Demonstrated track record of client relationship management and business development
